This one should be on the list of 7 wonders of California, so surreal it looks. It’s the northernmost part of Schooner Gulch beach that looks as if someone dropped a bunch of oversized bowling balls on the shore. Many of them are almost perfectly spherical and look somewhat alien – but are actually creations of nature – they’re called “concretions” and in essence, are a result of millions of years of nature doing its work and gluing particles of sand and minerals into these peculiar formations.
But they are also perfect for kids to jump between. Christine has spent about two hours nonstop on these rocks, and even Victoria jumped a bit from the smaller ones too!
Make sure you get there when it’s low tide though – looks like there won’t be much of these rocks seen in high tide.
