Shock! There are no bears in Siberia

Traveling to explore the world is obviously great for both entertainment and education. But visiting your homeland is probably important too once in a while.

We’re originally from Siberia, and we’ve lived there for more than 20 years before moving to US. Kids were born in the US, they speak fluent Russian and seem to understand some aspects of Russian culture. 🇷🇺🪆🇺🇸

But then during the dinner today we have discovered that Christine (9yr old) sincerely believes the most stereotypical view of Siberia – that we got bears roaming the streets freely. She was very surprised to know that the only bears we have ever seen were at Lake Tahoe 🙂 🐻

Now, traveling to Russia these days seems like a not-so-safe option, so we’ll have to continue the dinner talks 🙂
